Sodium Hydroxide
In response to many customers’ needs, Mays began manufacturing sodium hydroxide solution in-house in 2020. Our offering is produced from domestically sourced, high-purity, sodium hydroxide pellets. Many manufacturers are currently encountering issues with quality, as their feedstock is not sourced domestically.
Sodium hydroxide is used to manufacture many everyday products, such as paper, personal care products, aluminum, commercial drain and oven cleaners, and pharmaceuticals. It’s also used in many food processing applications, such as curing foods, or helping to brown foods like pretzels, giving them their beloved crunch. Sodium hydroxide is also used to remove skin from vegetables prior to canning, as well as being used as a preservative to help prevent mold and bacteria growth.
It’s main application, however, is its ability to balance and adjust the pH of products.

While the most common dilution is 50%, Mays can meet almost any dilution requirement you may have. Please contact your sales rep to learn more about the material we currently stock, or to discuss custom dilution options. In order to best serve you, we recommend contacting us 2-3 weeks prior to your needs, as we like to optimize efficiencies and ensure we deliver quality product to our customers.
USP/EP Grade Purified Water
Mays USP/EP Purified Water meets current USP/EP standards and is tested by an ISO accredited laboratory. Our water purification system ensures our product’s quality for your next water project. USP/EP Purified Water is packaged at our Greenwood location, which is a GFSI SQF Certified facility operating under GFSI Guidelines.
In addition to multiple finished package options, our USP/EP Purified Water will meet your proprietary blending process needs and requirements. The Mays Greenwood Facility is a one-stop blending option for your customized needs. We have easy delivery options to anywhere in the 48 contiguous United States.
